Converted warehouse lofts have wide freight lifts but heavy doors and long interior hauls, and the older low-rises off 21st Street are walk-ups where the move lives or dies on the stair turn. We measure the doorways and the landings ahead of time so nothing gets wedged on the way down.

Where a building has a loading dock or a service entrance we book a spot off the street, and on the tighter blocks around Jackson Avenue we work around alternate-side rules to park as close to your door as the day allows. Where will the truck park in Long Island City?
Most LIC towers around Court Square and Hunters Point have a loading dock or a service entrance, so we book a window and the truck parks off the street. On the older low-rise blocks near 21st Street we work around alternate-side parking and find the closest legal spot to your door. We scope the parking before the day so nobody is circling the block with your sofa waiting.
Do I need a Certificate of Insurance for my building?
Almost every glass tower and converted loft in Long Island City asks for a COI before they let movers past the desk. Send us your management company's requirements and the building address, and we'll have the certificate issued to their exact wording. Get it to us a few days ahead so the front desk has it on file before we arrive.
What about the older walk-ups near Vernon Boulevard?
Not all of LIC is high-rise. Plenty of the older low-rises off Vernon Boulevard and 21st Street are three- and four-storey walk-ups with a tight turn at the landing. We measure the doorways and that stair turn ahead of time so a wardrobe or a sofa bed doesn't get wedged halfway up.
How does the freight-elevator booking work?
The towers around Court Square run moves on a booked freight-elevator window, usually a two- or three-hour slot the building assigns. Once you have your slot from the management company, tell us the time and we'll build the crew's schedule around it. That keeps the padded elevator reserved and yours for the whole load.
Can you handle a small studio move in one of the towers?
Yes. A studio or one-bed in a Hunters Point rental doesn't need a full-day booking. We'll send you a flat price for the move so you know the cost before we lift a box, elevator window and all.
