Step 1 of 4: Move

Step 1: Move

First, the move itself

Where you're leaving and where you're landing.

Street address is best, but a neighborhood works.

Even just the borough is fine if you're not sure yet.

We pack New York, and plan the rest with you

Tell us what is going and where in the world it is headed. Everything is boxed and padded for a long trip, and we log each carton on an inventory as we pack, so there is a written record of what left with you. Where a building asks for its certificate of insurance, that goes to the management company from us, along with the elevator booking and the curb spot for load-out day.

The shipping we plan around your destination and price on its own, so the full cost is in front of you before anything is booked. Keepsake is based in Sunnyside, Queens, and licensed for the New York end of a move that carries on overseas.

Comes with the New York end

What the New York side always includes

Wherever your things are headed, the load-out from New York works the same way, and the flat price you agree up front already covers every line here.

  • The New York end on one flat price, agreed up front
  • A written inventory of everything that leaves with you
  • Your building's certificate of insurance sent to management for you
  • The freight elevator booked for load-out day
  • A curb spot for the truck arranged ahead of load-out

One flat price, locked in before moving day

Your quote is a guaranteed flat fee for the whole job. If moving day runs long, you still pay the number you agreed.

Flat-fee pricing

How an international move is priced

What's going
a studio's worth of boxes and a four-bedroom house travel very differently, so the inventory starts the quote.
Your New York building
the stairs, the freight elevator and the parking set how the New York load-out runs, and that part is priced flat.
The destination
the country and city your things are headed to shape the shipping, which we quote separately and show you up front.
Packing help
we can pack some rooms or the whole home, and that work is priced into the New York end.
Storage between homes
if there is a gap before your new place is ready, the weeks in storage are counted in before you agree.

Where in the world is it going?

Tell us what is moving and the city it is headed to. We'll price the New York end flat and plan the shipping with you.

Storage, picked up and brought back

If the new place isn’t ready yet, we arrange the storage and load your things in ourselves, still wrapped from the move. When you have the keys, we bring it all back.

International moving FAQs

Where do you move to?

Tell us the city and country and we plan around it. The New York packing and load-out are the same wherever you are headed; the shipping is arranged for your destination.

How is an international move priced?

The New York end is a flat price built from your inventory and your building. The overseas shipping is quoted separately for your destination, and you see both before you commit to anything.

Do you pack for shipping?

Yes. We pack everything to travel long distances, and we log an inventory as we go, so there is a record of what was packed and which room it came from.

What about customs and duties?

Those are set by the destination country, not by us. The inventory we write at pickup is the list that travels with your things through it.

Can you store my things if the new place isn't ready?

Yes. We can arrange storage here in New York and hold everything until your dates line up, so nothing has to travel before you are ready to receive it.

How far ahead should I book?

Sooner is easier. A move out of the country has more moving parts than a local one, and booking early leaves room to plan the shipping and clear your building's paperwork.

Heading to another state?

We move that route, we just haven’t written the page yet. Leave your details and we’ll come back with a quote.
