Manhattan movers for the apartment you made a home

The fifth-floor sofa is part of the job. So are the books, the kitchen and the things you would be upset to lose. Keepsake helps move your home, with packing available if you would like your evenings back.

Step 1 of 4: Move

Step 1: Move

First, the move itself

Start with the pickup and destination.

Street address is best, but a neighborhood works.

Even just the borough is fine if you're not sure yet.

Moving in Manhattan

Moving a studio or a full household

A studio can hold years of belongings. A larger apartment may be half packed already. We can look at your actual home in a free video or in-person survey, work through what is coming and discuss the help you want.

Point out the furniture that was difficult to get in, the artwork you want us to look at and anything heading to a second address. We wrap and pad furniture, label boxes and plan around the contents you are taking.

If the new place is in Brooklyn or Queens, we can handle that move too. Keepsake serves all five boroughs, from a few pieces of furniture to a whole household.

Packing and preparation

Have less left to do the night before

Packing always looks manageable until you reach the kitchen. We can take on that room, several rooms or the whole apartment. Packing normally happens during the moving-day visit; larger jobs may be planned over two days, with packing first.

Building paperwork belongs in the preparation too. Send the management contact and COI requirements, and we will coordinate directly. If the dates leave a gap between apartments, we can arrange storage.

Questions about moving in Manhattan

How much does hiring movers in Manhattan cost?

We prepare a guaranteed flat quote for the belongings, addresses, access and services you book. A free survey helps us review the home when a written description is not enough. Duration does not change the agreed price.

Will you move a fifth-floor walk-up?

Yes. Tell us the floor and anything difficult about the stairs or furniture. Photos or a free survey help us look at a tight landing or doorway before moving day.

Who handles the certificate of insurance?

Keepsake coordinates directly with building management on the COI. Send the contact and written certificate requirements from each building that needs one.

What if both buildings have restricted moving hours?

Share the hours or access windows you have been given. We need to review them together when agreeing the moving schedule.

Can you move an office in Manhattan?

Yes. We offer commercial moving for offices, studios and other workspaces. Describe the contents and the deadline you are working toward.

Heading to another state?

Tell us a little about the move and how to reach you. We’ll get in touch within one business day to talk through the route, the dates and what’s coming with you.
