Packing services in NYC when you have enough on your plate

The kitchen has a way of looking nearly packed for days. We can take it from there, or pack the whole home if you would rather spend your evenings doing something else.

Step 1 of 4: Move

Step 1: Move

First, the move itself

Start with the pickup and destination.

Street address is best, but a neighborhood works.

Even just the borough is fine if you're not sure yet.

Hand over the rooms you would rather not pack

You can do the clothes and books while we handle the kitchen, or leave the contents of every room to us. Full and partial packing are both available. Tell us about fragile pieces and anything you want left out so we can agree the right scope.

We wrap, pad and label according to what is being packed. Your quote identifies the rooms or contents included and what Keepsake supplies. If a room is hard to describe, a free survey by video or in person lets us look through it together.

You can still use your home before moving day

Packing normally happens on moving day, in the same visit as the move. For a larger home booked as a two-day job, we pack on the first day and move on the second. We confirm which schedule applies when we quote.

If the move takes you out of New York, explore long-distance moving or international moving alongside the packing you need.

Before we begin, set aside medication, documents, chargers and the things you want to keep with you. If you are packing some rooms yourself, mark the boxes for their rooms at the new address and make the split clear to us. Our moving-day preparation guides can help with the rest.

Leave the packing to us

Tell us which rooms you want packed and when you are moving. We will work out the scope and supplies with you before booking.

Packing services FAQs

Do I need to buy boxes and packing materials?

Tell us what you already have. The quote will identify what Keepsake supplies for your chosen packing service, so you can check what is covered before buying anything.

Can I book packing without booking a move?

Send the address, rooms and date you need. We will confirm whether a standalone packing visit is available and what can be included.

Can you pack the day before I move?

A separate packing day is available when the move is planned and booked as a two-day job. Otherwise, packing takes place on moving day. Include your preferred schedule when you ask for a quote.

Do you unpack at the new address?

Ask for unpacking specifically. We will confirm whether it is available for your move and, if so, include the agreed work in your quote.

How is packing priced?

We assess the contents, the amount of packing and the moving schedule. You receive a flat price for the packing work listed in your quote. Let us know if you add rooms or contents before the date.

Can packing be included before storage?

Yes. We can pack before pickup and arrange storage if your belongings need to wait between addresses. Include both services in the inquiry so the timing can be considered together.
