Some managed buildings ask for a certificate of insurance even on a haul-away, so we file that with the management company for you and reserve the service elevator if the building runs one. Will you take just one item?
Yes. One couch or one treadmill gets a flat price up front and two movers to bring it down. You point at it, we carry it out.
How do you price junk removal?
From how much is going, how it carries, and the stairs or elevator at your building. The form asks what you want gone. The price we send back is flat and covers the carry and the haul-away.
Can you clear a whole apartment?
Yes. Tell us which rooms and what stays. We empty the rest, room by room, and leave the floors swept.
Can you do it the same day as my move?
Often, yes. Book the clear-out with the move and the things that aren't coming with you go on the same visit, on one price.
What can't you take?
Hazardous materials are the main thing: paint, solvents, propane, anything flammable. Tell us what you've got and we'll say straight away what can go on the truck.
What happens to the stuff you take?
Whatever still has life in it, we'd rather see reused than dumped, so usable furniture and goods go to a donation or recycling spot instead of straight to a landfill. The rest is disposed of properly.
Do I need to be there?
Someone does, to point out what goes and what stays. Once that is clear, you carry nothing.
