Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 6, 2026
This policy explains what information Keepsake Moving & Storage collects through keepsakemoving.com and over the phone, why we collect it, who else is involved in processing it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it the way we would explain it to you in person, because that is how we would rather do it.
What we collect
When you request a quote
Our quote form asks for your name, email address, phone number (optional), the address you are moving from, the address you are moving to, your move date, the size of your home, the service you need along with a few follow-up questions about it, and any notes you want to add. We need this to price your move and to plan it properly: a fourth-floor walk-up is a different job than a building with a freight elevator.
When you use the contact form
The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number (optional), and your message.
When you join our email list
The newsletter signup collects one thing: your email address (along with the technical details described below, which come with any form submission).
When you call us
If you call (212) 203-3171, we note down the details you give us, typically your name, number, and the basics of your move, so we can follow up and prepare your quote.
Technical information
When you submit any form on the site, we also record the IP address and browser type the submission came from, along with the page you submitted it on. This helps us tell genuine enquiries from automated spam and keeps our records accurate.
Why we use it
We use your information to prepare your flat, guaranteed quote, to run your move, to reply when you write or call, and, if you signed up for it, to send you our newsletter. When you submit a form, your details go four places: an email to our team so we can respond, a confirmation email to you (for quote requests), our own records so we have a reliable history of the conversation, and the contact list we use to follow up and to send the emails you have asked for.
Who else is involved
We do not hand your information around casually, but running a website means a small number of service providers process data on our behalf:
- Postmark: the service that delivers our transactional email. When you submit a quote or contact form, Postmark carries the notification to us and the confirmation to you. You can read more at postmarkapp.com/privacy-policy.
- Google Analytics 4: we use it to understand how people find and use the site (which pages get read, where visitors drop off). It sets cookies in your browser and processes usage data on Google's servers. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy, and Google offers a browser opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google address autocomplete: the address fields on our quote form suggest addresses as you type. To do that, the text you type into those fields is sent to Google's Maps service, which returns the suggestions. If the address service fails to load, the fields work as plain text fields.
- Hosting and network services: the site and its database run on servers we rent from Hetzner, a hosting provider, and traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare, which provides security and network services and processes visitor IP addresses as part of that.
That is the full list. There are no advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers on this site.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies, used to measure site usage. We do not set login cookies, advertising cookies, or anything that follows you to other websites. If you block cookies in your browser, every part of the site still works, including the quote form.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and contact records for as long as we reasonably need them: to prepare your quote, carry out your move, handle any follow-up, and meet our legal and tax obligations as a business. Newsletter email addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and emailing us works just as well. If you would like your information deleted sooner, email kieran@keepsakemoving.com and we will take care of it, keeping only what the law requires us to retain.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Your details exist in our systems for one purpose: your move.
Security
New York's SHIELD Act requires businesses that hold New Yorkers' private information to maintain reasonable data-security safeguards, and that is the standard we hold ourselves to. The site is served over HTTPS, form input is validated and cleaned before it is stored, credentials for our systems are kept out of the website's code, and access to your details is limited to the people who need them to handle your enquiry and your move.
California residents
If you live in California, state privacy law gives you specific rights over your personal information, including the right to know what we hold and the right to ask us to delete it. We honor those requests for everyone, not just Californians, but the details of those rights and how to exercise them are set out on our California privacy page.
Children
Our services and this website are meant for adults arranging a move. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we learn we have done so, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, for example by adding a new service provider, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
